Total number of countries that make up the European Union: 28
On Jan 1, 2014, Latvia became the latest EU member state to adopt the Euro. There are currently 18 European Union economies that use a common currency (the Euro).

   France

   Greece
   Ireland

   Luxembourg
   Malta
   The Netherlands
   Portugal
   Slovenia
   Slovakia
   Spain

EU Member States That Do Not Use the Euro:

Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Denmark, Croatia, Lithuania, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Sweden and the United Kingdom.
