Trump’s open disrespect for international rules is viewed by many in the non-western world as preferable to the unbearable hypocrisy of the previous liberal administration. Under Trump, the US will finally become a normal great power — imperial but not crusading. It will no longer pretend to be better than all other countries, but rather act on the assumption that it is stronger than them.
