Ronald McKinnon - a prominent international macroeconomist has passed
away:
During the past sixty years or so, Rudiger Dornbusch, Max Corden and
Ronald McKinnon were the three economists whose contributions to international
macroeconomics were truly original, illuminating and impactful. Compared to
modern economists, these three giants possessed a wonderful ability that permitted them to convey complex
research issues to a broad audience. Frankly, I still
think their economic models are far more interesting than any of the so-called
modern macroeconomic models.
